Shuyin clenched his fists when she grabbed him, and would have struck her if he hadn't felt floored by the heartbreak in her voice. He hit his knees when she walked past, shaking his head a little. Something in him snapped, and he wanted to cry, only he was far past that, and far too dry to have tears, "Yeah.. that's right.." he muttered the words. She hadn't even told him she loved him, when they'd died, "Just.. just go, before I get you killed again." he hugged himself and shook softly, seeming to curl inward a little, the feeling of power crackling around him again.
This is why he'd wanted the city gone.. without it, he'd have been left alone to suffer as he'd become accustomed to, this was new, and the pain was raw.
