Nearby, on the very peak of the mountains near Edge, Kid stood atop, observing the creatures of darkness forming in the wasteland. She had heard that the Heartless had begun to gather in the area, but what she saw wasn't even remotely a Heartless, though similar.

The past two months had been rough, especially while getting used to having another mind inside of her, specifically Schala herself. So far, all she merely did was take jobs and earn her pay, all the while retaining her basic thieving habits, such as stealing treasures and such.

But for now, all she was interested was on how to find a way home. As entertaining this world was, she promised to search every world for Serge, and it didn't take Schala's input on the situation to realize that her beloved could not be found within his world.

"Hell Hounds," she sighed heavily, "It just had to be Hell Hounds. Lousy 2 gil wasted on the damn information!" Just as she was about to leave, she heard a scream of pain, one all too familiar to her. Curious, she grabbed a pair of binoculars, focusing the lenses to see who would be dumb enough to be fighting demons in the middle of the wastelands.

Her eyes widened upon seeing her beloved Serge, alongside Glenn, fighting against the beasts alongside Glenn. Blood trailed down his arm, while Glenn was struggling with his own band of beasts, barely holding them back.

'Are we going to save them?' asked Schala from the depths of her mind.

She took out a small orb, fire swirling around it as she called upon its mystic powers, grinning ear-to-ear as the fire enveloped her hand. "They always saved me arse. Time to see how they like being the damsels in distress!"

She threw the fire orb into the air, watching as it shined over her. "Ifrit! Come out and play!"
