Who: Schala, Open
When: About Noon
Where: Balamb
What: tripping...falling...
Rating: PG13 (just to be safe)
She was running. Arms and legs aching from fatigue, vision blurry, but the blue haired woman just wouldn't stop. Until suddenly, she tripped, and fell, colliding with the earth and then getting up slowly, on her hands and knees. It was then that she realized it was in fact ground she was kneeling upon. And everything seemed so bright, after being in the dark for so long. Squinting her eyes, Schala looked around so she could decipher what could have tripped her. It seemed there was nothing around except for soft grass and the odd tree, but then, next to her foot she spied...a cat. A small, black and white feline was rubbing against her leg, trying apparently to comfort her.
"Were you what I tripped on?" She asked, folding her legs under her and picking the kitty up so she could gaze into it's face. The cat seemed quite pleased, and she got a strange feeling from looking at it, as though she could sense what it was thinking. "Were you there with me this whole time?" She asked, somewhat disbelievingly. "And here I never even noticed. I'm so sorry kitty." She set the cat on her shoulder and stood up, looking to get her bearings. Now that she looked around, she could see that she had managed to come out near a coastal town, the area around it was lush and green, and it made her feel at ease. After all that writhing darkness, it was good to once again be in the light.
It was a beautiful town by the sea. A man there handed her a strange device, saying she could summon people with it. But when she tried it out, all it did was make a similar device the man was carrying make a noise. Such a peculiar thing. The cat seemed to agree, yawning a bit and feigning indifference. When she didn't seem to understand what it was, the man looked her over a bit, and shook his head. He looked like he'd just decided something about her. Wondering what it could be, Schala scratched her head, then wandered farther into town, mulling it over until she looked down, noticing the shredded and worn remnants of her robes. "Oh dear, what a fool I must have seemed, dirty and bedraggled and not knowing what a pho-en is..." She sighed and shook her head, before finally settling down at the pier to think over her situation.
"I wonder where we are kitty..?" she asked, but of course, he had no answer.
