Who: Cloud, Lightning, Kadaj, Aerith
What: Rescuing Aerith from Northern Base
When: Continuing this.
Where: Northern Crater
Warnings: Could get nasty.
The small device Cloud held in the palm of his hand blinked a soft blue light, his fingers resting over it. He moved his eyes up to Lightning's, his hair being buffeted by the winds as they both fell from the airship. Even though the roughness of free falling in the air was present he managed to keep his eyes open while looking at her. It was difficult for him to figure out or explain to himself, but her understanding of why he was doing this and her unwavering offer to aid him was just a fraction of solace he shared while she was there with him. Looking at the clouds below them, Cloud activated the small chip. He had no idea what it was, but he trusted her implicitly. Soon enough it would reveal it's usefulness.
Coldness was trying to dig it's way through his skin, trying to bite at his bones, strengthened by the rushing cold air from the fall as well as the natural frozen chill that surrounded the Northern Crater. Once they cleared the clouds and the snow covered ground was becoming more visible he raised his hand to clasp the hilt of his sword. Within that base was Aerith, recently brought back by the Lifestream only to be quickly taken by Sephiroth. Cloud remembered vividly when he encountered Aerith at the church she had once shown him years ago.
Why was everything always taken from him?
Releasing his sword from it's sheath his right hand and cradling the small device in his other he gave a quick glance at Lightning as the aspects of the ground came into clarity. Then he turned upright in the air ready for groundfall when suddenly it felt like he was weightless and he descended, his boots sinking slowly into the snow. Blinking in surprise he looked to the small chip in his left hand, he raised his eyebrows in appraisal. Obviously his companion had experience with this kind of abrupt rescue mission. Tucking the chip away in his pocket he looked towards the base and saw a familiar figure dressed in black. Recalling Aerith's mention of her meeting with Kadaj and how it had seemed he had changed. A lie of course.
"Kadaj." uttered Cloud acidly.
