Who: Squall, Open
When: Afternoon
Where: Snow Village
What: Snowboarding
Warnings: TBA

It had taken Squall a while to build up the courage to attempt snowboarding for fear of looking like a complete idiot. But once he had tried it, he realised it was a lot of fun and he was actually pretty good at it.

So far he had spent much of the morning out in the snow. It was nice to take a break from things. Of course, by 'take a break' it meant using the laptop whenever he was back at the inn to catch up on work - usually in the early hours of the morning when Rinoa was asleep.

Half of Snow wanted to ask if Kefka ever found his circus troupe, the other half wanted to just try and pretend his weirdness wasn't there, however he appreciated that the clown moved aside all the same. Finally someone who was aware of other people trying to do other things. Just as he was about to pull his goggles down and shred up the white hill again, he heard his name in a familiar voice. He turned to see Rinoa.

"Oh, hey again" he said with a wave. From last he heard, Rinoa was going through some tough times and let her be.

When he opened his mouth to tell her he was going to do at least one more day of snow boarding before packing up and leaving Icicle Inn he heard Rinoa's name, but not before seeing the scarred young man who had looked in their direction. A look that probably seared his eyebrows off. He blinkined a few times before making the connection that this had to be Rinoa's boyfriend.

Rinoa's jealous boyfriend. He decided to wait before giving a quick explanation that Snow was really just here for the slopes and chill time, nothing more.

Partner? What were they, private detectives now? Rinoa gave Squall a bit of a questioning look, as she scooted a bit farther away from the decidedly discomforting clown-person. The rest of the crowd seemed to have dispersed, leaving just the three of them standing there. And while she felt weird standing on top of a ski slope chatting, it was as good a place as any she supposed.

"Squall, this is Snow! He saved my life back in Luca when we got separated during the festival attack." She said proudly. "And Snow, this is Squall. He's the one I was telling you about when we checked in". She told him, before mentally worrying that that might make Squall look a little bad. She'd been pretty upset with him before Quistis' phone call.

"It was nothing, just what us heroes do, right?" Snow said with a big smile. "So you're Squall, huh?" Snow didn't bring up any of the venting Rinoa laid out on him about her tangled love life. Snow himself had been in quite a fix himself in regards to his former love triangle along with Ashe and Rasler. In fact Snow extended his hand for a shake towards Squall. It was hard for him to be aggressive to a person he had never met. After all, he probably would have acted the same way when he was engaged to Serah.

Amazing that he came on this trip to forget about all that, but seeing Rinoa and Squall was a sharp reminder of it.

Rinoa gave them both a smile, clasping her hands together. It was so great that they were all friends now, and she was willing to let the Partners comment slide. Especially since it was better than not being introduced at all, or worse; being called 'my friend'. "So, now that we're all introduced, what are we doing up here?" She asked curiously. "Oh oh, are we gonna snowboard? It was fun last time, even though I fell down a lot."

If she was aware of Squall's tension, she was doing a good job of pretending it wasn't there. And that was probably for the best since adding her own discomfort wouldn't do any good to the situation.
