Who: Serge, Grobyc, Vanitas, Maria, Loz, Xion, and CLOSED
Where: Calm Lands
What: Battle Royal
When: during the villain event
Rating: PG-13 for blood, swearing, and death
The nightmare with Sephiroth was the only the prelude to something worst, and the thought refused to leave Serge’s head. He had never truly faced Lavos, only facing his children and the Time Devourer, but he knew a threat when it reared its ugly head. This world was doomed at this rate if they did nothing. He had hoped to find one of the SeeD members, only to be unable to find them, much to his misfortune.
For now, he traveled and trained his body once more, honing his skills. The hunt festival certainly prepared him a little, though he nearly came last in it because of a rookie mistake; always check to see if construction work was still happening. Lately, he had a habit of breaking the ground under him, and falling right through into trouble.
The Calm Lands however offered no such bad luck. Nothing more than a tourist attraction, he offered his help to ridding the place of fiends. The money worked out with the bills, and another month of work could help him finally pay off the debts he owed. Sadly, he had little time to spend with his current marks on the run.
Xion…he needed to find her before she did anything drastic, maybe prevent the Lavoid somehow. If she still retained her sanity, that gave him hope Schala would as well. But with Lavos behind the scenes, nothing good could ever come out of this situation.
And then of course there was Sephiroth and the fiends that attacked Luca, all threats that needed to be eliminated. Often Serge wondered why he should be the one to do it. His answer always came with a picture of him and Kid, and all their friends. Allowing people to have the same tragedy they grew up with was not an option or up for debate.
And after Sephiroth and Kadaj took Schala, doing god knows what, they made it far too personal.
Finally, Grobyc. He had to find out why his former friend, the very being who sought no longer to fight and be used, be toyed with by another. The only people that could even do such a thing were in either Cocoon, SeeD, or Home with the Al-Bhed, all factions Serge lacked transportation to without the proper money.
But now it was break time, and he pulled the reins of Namine’s chocobo. Since the girl was gone, he had decided to borrow it and leave it here for the Organization to collect. If he found one of them, he could find Xion. That was the plan anyway, but not even they were so foolish as to come alone, especially with someone wielding light so dangerously. And so he sat there, eating away his troubles with a slice of pizza before he resumed his job/training. The chocobo rested next to him, sleeping away and dreaming of its master no doubt.
Serge smiled at that and patted its head. “We’ll see them soon, don’t worry. So long as nothing bad happens…” The Chrono Trigger allowed those words to sink in, before bowing his head. Something bad was ALWAYS happening. Heaven and Hell only knew the horrors that awaited him in mere minutes.
