Never has anyone looked more despondent while looking over the grand display of the expansive and beautiful capital of Alexandria than Cloud Strife did as he looked out the window of the air cab he was in. He had visited almost every point of Alexandria and the castle itself was his next destination. After having lost contact with Lightning and surviving an onslaught of vile Malboro Cloud had been going to random spots through the Alexandrian Kingdom, whether it was to just take his mind off the moment or actively looking for Lightning was something he tried not to think over too much. Yet on every air cab ride taken thus far he had looked over each person looking for a familiar face. The sounds of brakes squealing and a light lurch of the cab meant they had landed at their destination and as usual Cloud stayed watching everyone disembark in the off chance he had missed seeing someone he knew. Once it became empty he stepped off, the door closing behind him. However the city of Alexandria was not what it had been the last time he had been here. Having spent so little attention to the goings on he had never once noticed the fliers and posters that heralded this, the first day of the Festival of Fertility. Even after having stood there at the station taking in the celebration and revelry Cloud had not even noticed that he had been tossed flower petals that were in his hair, shoulders, and even a few that lingered on the hilt of the sword on his back.
"Enjoy the commemoration of Ylva and Lothcar's love!" called the flower girl as she continued on her way past the station.
