Who: Vaan and Larsa
What: Metting up after a long while
Where: Rabanstre Aerodome
When: A Whiiiile ago. Right after Lasra left the Strah
Larsa slipped off the Strahl a few moments after she landed, the small belonging he had brought with him in a bag, along with his royal clothes so he could move about a little bit easier, trying not to be recognized. Carefully he sat himself down on one of those large waiting sofas, eventually moving to lay down, hugging his bag close.
Heading to make more repairs on his nameless airship, Vaan strode through the Aerodrome. He was used to seeing homeless people sleeping on the benches but at the sight of the boy, he gasped, almost dropping his toolkit. Vaan rushed over and knelt down to Larsa. "...Larsa?!" His voice was filled with surprise.
Larsa jumped openly at his name, as did the people in earshot, eyeing the young emperor that was supposed to be home and safe, running the country. The young boy shifting a little then, sitting and looking around with a slight pout at the looks he was getting. "Yes...Vaan?"
"What are you doing here?!" He shook his head and before Larsa could answer, he grabbed the boy's things and headed towards the ship he was set on repairing.
He squeaked slightly when his things were pulled away from him, following Vaan quickly and trying at first to keep his chin up and his head held high, waving a couple of times when someone would point at him. "I...didn't want to be recognized."
Vaan laughed nervously. "Y-yeah... but someone would recognise you sooner or later." He smiled at the boy before heading into his ship, dumping Larsa's things in the captain's chair. "It's not as regal as the Strahl, but she's home to me." He chuckled.
Once his things were set down he picked them up again, rubbing at his eyes with his arm rather than hand. Though at first he wanted to just get back off the ship, he yawned slightly at sat down in the co-pilots chair, curling slightly into himself.
Vaan sat on the floor, leaning under the console to begin repairing melted wires. "So, what're you doing in Rabanastre?" He tilted his head, trying to reach.
"It was...the safest place that the Strahl had stopped...Had I gotten off anywhere else I fear that Balthier and Fran would have followed me and brought me back." He squirmed a little more, bending up his knees to get more comfortable in the large chair.
"Right... well, where are you gonna stay while you're here? With Ashe in the palace?" He leaned to look at Larsa.
"I...hadn't thought about it...I just wanted to get away from those two and sleep..." He mumbled, stretching with a small little sound before relaxing again.
"You... know Fran's pregnant, right?" He tilted his head a little, not working anymore and just watching Larsa as he spoke.
He tensed up a little then, hiding his face with a slight shiver. "Yes...With Balthier’s...She's pregnant with Balthier’s child..."
"I bet their kid is going to be really amazing! Any child of their has to be!!" He mused, barely realising how uncomfortable Larsa was.
The pre-teen didn't respond to that, he just hugged his back tighter and closed his eyes.
"Are... you okay, Larsa?" He moved to touch Larsa's head, worrying for the pre-teen emperor.
He jumped slightly when touched before flashing a smile and nodding. "Mmhm! I'm okay...Just...Just tired." Of hearing about them. Tired of hearing about how happy they seemed and seeing how happy they actually were.
He nodded a little. "I've got a bedroom here, if you want to sleep?" He leaned down and kissed Larsa's head, the spark in his eye being so very akin to Balthier's.
He couldn't meet Vaan's gaze, closing his eyes at the little kiss before shaking his head. "I'll sit here and keep you company as you work..."
"I'll be here for hours, Larsa. If you want to sleep, you can!" He smiled, knowing that something was off with Larsa but wanting to keep a brave face for the boy.
"You shouldn't have to do it alone...I'm comfortable enough here, If I fall asleep it's still better than having no one else here right?" He smiled again, setting his bag aside and curling up in the chair made for people twice his side.
"Alright. But if you do fall asleep, I'll probably carry you to bed like a princess." He teased, leaning back down to continue working.
He watched for only a little while until he fell asleep, one leg tucked beneath him and the other slipping out and hanging over the edge, the leg of his pants pulling up and bunching at the edge of the chair.
Vaan worked a little while but he'd sensed Larsa was not with him as such. Sitting up, he smiled at the boy. Doing as he said he would, Vaan scooped Larsa up and carried him to the small bedroom. It was big enough to fit a double bed but not much else.
Larsa made a soft sound of protest when moved, squirming at first before nuzzling close to Vaan with a yawn, not minding the warmth coming off of him.
Vaan rested the boy on the bed and sat beside him, petting his hair. He really did worry for all his friends, especially those with more responsibilities.
Larsa shifted a few times in his sleep, moving a bit close sometimes and the others curling in the other direction.
Vaan rested down beside Larsa, cradling him close. He really did care about this boy. He'd gotten so attached to everyone when they fought together that it hurt to not see them all the time like before.
Larsa made another small sound when moved about, yawning and sniffling slightly. He was a heavy sleeper when he felt safe
After a little while, Vaan became more relaxed. He was comfortable and calm with Larsa. Soon after realising that, Vaan drifted to sleep.
