Who: Sora & Squall
When: After Sora’s fight with Riku
Where: Balamb Garden
What: Talking
Rating: PG-13
The young teen was meant to be discussing war tactics with Squall today. He headed to his friend's office, rubbing his eye a little as he knocked the door, sighing quietly as he waited.
Squall was sat at his desk, as he seemed to spend most of his time now. He rubbed at his hip, scribbling some notes down on a piece of paper. He looked over at the door, stuffing the paper in his drawer. "It's open."
Sora stepped inside and over to the chair across from Squall's, sitting in it and tucking his knees up against his chest, hugging his knees, and looking at the floor.
Squall watched the boy for a long moment, before closing his laptop, pushing it aside. He rested his elbows on the desk, chin on his hands. "What's wrong?" He asked.
A sob came from him and he squirmed awkwardly. "Riku hates me!!" He all but shouted, tears running down his face as his lower lip trembled.
Squall blinked, frowning a little. "Aw, Sora... I'm sure that's not true... Did he say he hates you, in those exact words?"
"Well... no... but he has to!" He rubbed at his eyes, sniffling a little. "My Keyblade keeps vanishing and it's because of something... well a lot of things I keep thinking and I told him and now... now he hates me!!"
"Start at the beginning, Sora." Squall pushed a box of tissues across the desk. "Take a deep breath and then tell me what's happened."
Sora took a deep breath and blew his nose with a tissue before starting. "Me and Riku had a sleepover and I woke up in the middle of the night. We talked a while then something happened and I kinda... made a move on him. I didn't even know why I was!!" He sighed a little, sniffling. "Now, my Keyblade keeps vanishing because of what I'm thinking and when I told Riku about it all he... got all weird with me..."
Squall listened to Sora talking. "Now... just to make sure we're talking about the same thing... by making a move, you mean sexually?" He moved to sit on the desk in front of Sora's chair. "And you say he got weird... define 'weird'."
"Y-yeah... I kinda... touched him..." His face burned brightly and he kept his eyes on his own knees. "Weird. Y'know... quiet and... and awkward..."
"What did he say after you touched him? Was he angry? Did he act differently around you?"
"I asked him if he wanted me to stop and he nodded and then... I dunno... we haven't been around each other since then..." He sighed. "He wasn't angry... just kinda... weird."
Squall reached out a hand to touch Sora's shoulder. "I think it would take more than that to break your friendship. You guys have an unbreakable bond."
"Doesn't mean it's unshakable." He mumbled, hugging his knees tighter. "I just don't know what's going on with me. I mean, me and Kairi are kinda sorta something and then I'm thinking this stuff about Riku..." He shook his head slightly.
"How old are you, Sora?" Squall asked. He knew roughly how old the boy was, but he wanted to be sure.
"Sixteen and a half." He mumbled, rubbing his eye slightly. "Why?" He tilted his head, pouting up at Leon.
"There is nothing wrong with the way you feel or the thoughts you're having. It's perfectly naturally and normal." Squall smiled softly at his young friend.
"But Riku... I'm sure he thinks it's weird or gross... I don't want him to hate me..." He sniffled, his lip wibbling again. "I want him to love me like when we were kids..."
"He's probably having the same thoughts about you, Sora. It's normal, especially for best friends."
"R-really? Then why is he being so weird with me? We've been friends since I was born... I can't... I can't lose him."
"He's probably just as scared of what he's feeling, as you are of your feelings." Squall shifted on the desk. "See... sometimes these feelings fade... and disappear, and sometime they stay. Maybe he's afraid of acting on them incase they fade and he breaks something between you."
Sora rubbed at his eye. "Even if they faded, I'd still be there for him. Like always..." He sighed softly, curling his arms around Leon's waist, burying his face. "I want to talk to him but I'm scared he'll get mad..."
Squall petted his fingers through Sora's hair. It amazed how soft those lethal looking spikes actually were. "Talking to him is the best thing you can do. Do you want me to talk to him for you?"
"I think he'd be mad I talked to you about our private stuff... and kinda embarrassed I mentioned that I made a move..." He mumbled, nuzzling a little.
Squall gave a nod. "I understand." He pressed a soft kiss to Sora's head. "You know you can always talk to me, right?"
He nodded a little, sighing softly. "You're such a good friend, Leon... but there's still the problem of my Keyblade..."
"Mm. It keeps disappearing? When you think about Riku?"
"When I think about anything... y'know... unpure." He scrunched his nose up. "But it happens when I think about my parents, too..."
Squall frowned a little. "What exactly do these unpure thoughts of Riku consist of?"
Sora blushed brightly, burying his face in Leon's stomach. "Stuff like... k-kissing him and... and touching him... and him touching me. Like... s-sex and stuff..." He all but whispered.
"And when you think these things... do you feel happy or sad?" Squall asked.
"Happy... and, y'know... warm and stuff..." He wriggled a little, hugging his knees again, burying his face in them.
Squall gave a nod. "Right... And do you... act on these fantasies? You know... touch and stuff?"
Sora blinked up at him. "I... I only touched him that once..." He tilted his head in confusion, bright blue, innocent eyes staring at him.
Squall gave Sora's nose a gentle poke. "I mean touching yourself."
Sora squeaked slightly, his face flushing bright pink. "N-no... I don't know... how..." He squirmed a little. "It's dirty... and unpure..."
"Do you truly believe that?" Squall asked, watching Sora. "Do you think I am dirty and unpure?"
Sora shook his head hard. "No!! But I can't... because... my Keyblade... and it's already vanishing..."
"Maybe the incidents aren't connected... It could be coincidence..."
"Then why is my Keyblade vanishing...? It has to be connected to my thoughts about Riku..." He mumbled.
"Does it vanish when you don't think about him?" Squall asked, tilting his head a little.
"Well... yeah..." He blushed a little, dropping his feet to the floor and resting his hands on his lap. "Maybe you're right..."
"Hmm. We'll get to the bottom of it Sora, I promise."
Sora gave a slight nod, sighing softly. "We were meant to be talking tactics... sorry... let's get to work."
