"I know, love. I know. I see it all..." she replied, her voice laced with sorrow. "You have me, though. They didn't destroy us. Not after a thousand years." She reached her hand to stroke his cheek gently, though her attentions were dragged away as she heard Maiyah retreat. Looking in the direction of her friend's exit, Lenne frowned. "Maiyah?"
She grasped Shuyin's hand, pulling him towards the exit of the dome, frowning still. "Shuyin, you must meet Maiyah. She saved me." Lenne smiled back at him, jogging down the steps and towards the outside, frowning as she saw Maiyah.
"Maiyah? You're not leaving, are you? I need you with me," she murmured, looking at her friend. She knew she had no place to ask Maiyah to accompany her and Shuyin any longer but they were both criminals now. She didn't want to see Maiyah harmed or taken to Bevelle and killed. She was a dear friend, thanks to all they'd seen and done together, and Lenne didn't want to lose her. She needed Maiyah in a different way to how she needed Shuyin but a summoner could always use more guardians. Especially two she trusted so deeply.
