Who: Maiyah, Lenne and Shuyin
What: Escaping to Zanarkand... and finding someone unexpected.
When: Morning
Where: From Macalania to... Zanarkand. Hopefully.
Rating: PG... For possible violence and... clothes stealing/cross-dressing 8D

Maiyah was asleep, curled up next to Lenne on the bed, nonchalantly sharing it with her. Her wounds were patching up under the bandages, but were still sore the following morning. She rolled over onto her other side, eyes cracking open soon enough to see Wantz staring at them through the crack of their door. Lifting her head up sharply, the door shut quickly, and Maiyah sighed deeply, laying herself back down and closing her eyes temporarily. She sat up, in her one-piece undergarment. Looking down at her thighs, she ran her fingers gently over the bloodied bandages.

She stood and went about quietly putting on her armor, not really knowing if Lenne was still asleep or not. They had to get out of there... quickly.

"I know, love. I know. I see it all..." she replied, her voice laced with sorrow. "You have me, though. They didn't destroy us. Not after a thousand years." She reached her hand to stroke his cheek gently, though her attentions were dragged away as she heard Maiyah retreat. Looking in the direction of her friend's exit, Lenne frowned. "Maiyah?"

She grasped Shuyin's hand, pulling him towards the exit of the dome, frowning still. "Shuyin, you must meet Maiyah. She saved me." Lenne smiled back at him, jogging down the steps and towards the outside, frowning as she saw Maiyah.

"Maiyah? You're not leaving, are you? I need you with me," she murmured, looking at her friend. She knew she had no place to ask Maiyah to accompany her and Shuyin any longer but they were both criminals now. She didn't want to see Maiyah harmed or taken to Bevelle and killed. She was a dear friend, thanks to all they'd seen and done together, and Lenne didn't want to lose her. She needed Maiyah in a different way to how she needed Shuyin but a summoner could always use more guardians. Especially two she trusted so deeply.

Shuyin went easily with Lenne, frowning a little at Maiyah's reticence. Lenne was a Summoner, and being one of older traditions, Shuyin figured that Maiyah might as well have been Lenne's Guardian, the same way he was. He put a hand on her shoulder, and might have spoken more harshly than he'd intended, "Hey!" he even sounded like Tidus, albeit with a keener edge to his hard voice, "You can't walk away on Lenne! Ya did great keeping her alive and well outta Bevelle, but that doesn't mean you're done, dammit. You're a Guardian, like it or not, so you've gotta come with us."

Really, what did the woman think she was doing? Even with him, Lenne had need of Guardians, people to keep her safe when there was danger, happy through her grief, and warm when chill winds blew. "Thank you for what you've done for her," he said it in a softer manner, and let go of her arm, "Please, don't leave her now on my account." Shuyin was selfish, he knew, but he wanted Lenne to have her friend, and him, no matter what.

"Maiyah... I killed people too. Men who probably have families and children. Shuyin has killed in his time, as well." She curled a hand around Maiyah's arm, looking out the same direction the older woman was. "We need each other, no matter how much damaged we've caused. Maiyah, we're all in the same stance, against Bevelle, so we might as well stay together and remain stronger," she tried resoning, sighing softly.

With a helpless look at Shuyin, she shrugged slightly. "Maiyah, we need you. So much has changed in the world that Shuyin and I have no one to rely upon but you." Leaning to look at Maiyah's face, she gave a weak smile. "Please, Maiyah. Don't leave us... don't leave me. You are a guardian. You're my guardian."

Much as it might have stirred vague jealousy in Shuyin, he also understood their need for someone more.. modern. He nodded to Maiyah, "Considering where we are, and that we cannot remain here or in Gagazet with the Ronso, we will have to pass by Bevelle again. Undoubtedly someone will recall Lenne, and by the time they get a gun up, they'll be as good as dead," steely resolve was in his eyes, a man who would easily be able to kill again and not care for the life he took. "We don't know anything about modern Spira, really.. we could use you around."

He just about wanted to toss her over his shoulder and tell her that like it or not, she'd be going with them, but he figured Lenne wouldn't appreciate it. "Every Summoner needs a Guardian or two to watch out for 'em. Right now, she'd just be swappin' out a useful one for a guy who mighta been useful a thousand years ago."

"No, I don't think Zanarkand has much to offer us anymore," she murmured, looking around. "We should head south, to Luca. I think we'd be able to blend into the crowds until we can get a safe place." Lenne looked at Shuyin, frowning slightly. She didn't like that he seemed to think he wasn't useful to her now and Lenne wasn't happy that he'd say it so openly but that could be discussed at a later date.

Keeping a grasp of Maiyah's arm, Lenne curled her free hand into Shuyin's gloved one, looking up at him. "Shuyin. You've been... present in the world for a long time, right? Is there anywhere you can think of that we'd be safe?" Whilst the Remiem Temple came to mind, Lenne wasn't to know it was occupied by Nobodies but she did figure the soldiers would check there.

He thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers. "Yeah.. some of the people I've met," killed. Horribly. "There are all kinds of places that aren't Spira.. we'll head down to Luca, yeah, then we can hop an airship to some new place.. there's the Gestahlian Empire near the Kingdom of Figaro on one continent.. and another has a place called Rabanastre where it's easy to vanish. How 'bout we find a nice place to vanish, and try on some new hats?" he winked and tapped the top of his head, chuckling.

The man squeezed Lenne's hand, and smiled to the two women, "Let's put the killing aside for now, and just go see something beautiful, huh? There's a whole wide world out there."

Lenne grinned and bounced in place, a soft giggle coming from her as she did. A new world, a new adventure! She even had a few plans for herself to earn enough gil to survive on. Sure, it might be a little awkward to get going at first but she knew her talents were going to be greatly appreciated in this world that seemed so void of real music.

"We leave right now! I say we scale Gagazet, get on one of those hover machinas to cross the Calm Lands, kick some Bevelle butt and high-tail it to Luca!"

"Works for me!" Shuyin grinned and pumped the air with one of his fists, and nodded brightly. His sword, an ancient weapon that was still sharp enough to part flesh like butter, appeared crossed over the back of his waist, simply coming into being. "We'll be able to make it to Luca, at least, then we'll figure out what to do." he figured Lenne would want to sing for her supper, as it were, and he didn't blame her, the woman's voice was divine.

"You okay with that Maiyah? I'll look out for ya, too, just worry 'bout Lenne. A Guardian always watches after their Summoner, and I ain't no Summoner."
