Who: Rufus and OPEN
What: Rummaging through remains
Where: Midgar, to be exact, ShinRa Building.
When: Mid-day.
WArnings: Cursing? No rating really.

Rufus shook his head slightly, that rather light blonde hair moving in front of his eyes as he knelt in the rubble, careful to avoid anything ‘uncomfortable’. Really, he had been here so many times to decided that he couldn’t destroy it yet, every time he looked he would find new…Well, old things.

Partially damaged documents, files, a hard drive safely tucked away somehow. He would find experimental Materia, Rudimentary Materia, Advanced Materia even in this pile of what no one seemed to realize was precious anymore. Straightening out the delicate male -- who almost never did this kind of stuff on his own -- rubbed a the gauze wrapped about his forehead, hiding where the Geostigma had once been.

It was tiring, perhaps he should have brought some help today…

Rufus straightened out and patted himself down, carefully moving across the rubble to what was slightly flat land.

Like the rest of the Edge residents, Xion was no stranger to looting the older, more run-down buildings of Midgar. It wasn't against any laws she knew of, but still one had to be stealthy.

She looked up at the Shin-Ra building, not far from where she stood, and tilted her head. She'd come to Edge long after the events that left most of Midgar in ruins, but it wasn't hard to see that this building in particular was once of great importance.

Pulling up her hood, Xion slipped inside the Shin-Ra building via a giant hole in one wall and began snooping around. She nearly tripped over the debris that lay behind the entrance. She did manage to fall flat on her face thanks to a fallen pipe rolling under her boot.

"Kyaah!" she winced at the sound of her own embarrassing yelp. "Smooth."

She got up and dusted herself off, giving a kick to the pipe before heading up the stairs.

Xion froze at the sound of a voice and slowly turned her head. She was glad her hood could hide her eyes, which were wide from the idea of being caught. She knew stealth was a given for any trek out into the ruins. With her cover blown, there was little else left to do. Fight or flight, whichever came first.

"Umm...you should put a fence around private property?" she inwardly groaned at her lack of a snappy comeback.

Loz never liked Lynx and Kefka, hence why he was in the Shinra building of all places. A normal person could have just walked through the front doors, and yet...He did exactly that...

By punching down the wall of the front entrance.

The wall of rubble broke upon impact of the Dual Hound, and a smirk came to his face as the chunks flew at his might. At least until he noticed the second hole. "No fair!" he muttered, disappointed someone beat him to the punch, literally.

Walking inside, he saw the memories of his brother, Sephiroth unfold. The images already told him how wonderful a place it looked on the outside, but he knew better. Shinra was the one to take his mother, then surely they at least have some cells left to help him find everyone. But still, something else must have happened, because he did not remember the building being in such bad shape. Perhaps it had something to do with this Deep Ground project his brother overheard...

Turning his head at the pair of voices close to him, he was surprised to see the another intruder in the form of a hooded child. He grinned at the comment she made to her assailant. "Kid's got guts!" He leaped behind her attacker: the former president Rufus Shinra, the Dual Hound mere inches away from his neck. "Where's mother?" he asked, the sparks growing far more intense. At the rate he was going, all he wanted was a good fight.

The appearance of the large man startled her greatly. However, she silently thanked whatever greater power had brought their new...acquaintance into the mix. With the attention off of her, she could get away! Or at least, she hoped.

"Mother?" she thought aloud, blinking a few times. Wasn't he a bit old to be looking for his mom? Not that she could understand why he might. Replicas didn't have parents, unless one counted those who made them. Even then, there wasn't much love between creator and creation. She definitely wouldn't consider someone like Vexen to be a proper parent in any way, shape or form.

Xion's hand moved slowly behind her back to call forth the Keyblade she bore. If worse came to worse, it wouldn't hurt to have her weapon at hand, but she would've rather not fought at all.

"H-Hey...there's no need to fight. C'mon...please?"

Crushing his skull, hurling him through a wall or window, or hell, even kicking him down a flight of steps were all eager ideas lining in wait...

But judging by the man's status before him, he was clearly in no shape to fight, and Loz always preferred prey that fought back, just so he could always have a challenge. Lockheart and the other turk were good examples, even if they did fall quicker than he expected.

He glanced at the small child, and felt...nothing from her. Truly nothing. It was weird and strange, but he shrugged it off. Maybe Kefka or Lynx knew the answer.

Speaking of answers, it was only now that he noticed that the place was in a wreck, even moreso than the last time he and his brothers came here. Holes were created nearly everywhere, mostly bullets, and the stink of mako and materia was slightly present. He never recalled his brothers using such an amount of magic in Midgar, and Yazoo could never have enough ammo to cause this much damage. Something happened, and curiosity got the better of him this day.

Leaning against the wall, he drew his gun out, whistling innocently before staring back at the Shinra heir with a glare. "Alright, fighting you now is no fun anyway; gotta save me energy. So tell me..." He took one final look across the room before settling his gaze back on the duo. "What happened here? It looks like crap, even moreso..."

Even hidden under the hood, Xion didn't like the looks she was getting. Being short was always a bit of an inconvenience. When you weren't being mistaken for a kid, you were being mistaken for a boy or some other thing of that nature. After dismissing her keyblade, she pushed her hood back and lightly shook her hair out.

She turned her attention to Rufus Shinra. He seemed somehow...less imposing, weaker. She still wasn't too fond of that gun of his though.

"I...I wasn't really going to loot anything. I just like...exploring." she looked down, hoping he'd accept that. Odds were he wouldn't. "It didn't look like anyone was here either..."
