Finding Home
May. 9th, 2010 12:14 pmWho: Roxas, Xion
What: She needs to see her brother
Where: Rabanastre
When: After this thread
Rating: G
Ye gods, it was hot! Way too uncomfortable for even regular sleeves to be worn, let alone a thick black coat. Xion didn't know why she had opted to wear such a thing, but she was surely regretting it now. Briefly she considered reforming her armor around herself to give better clothing, but that thought was all too quickly tossed aside. She didn't need to draw unnecessary attention to herself. That would only bring trouble to both her and her brother.
"Roxas...where are you..." she mumbled to herself, picking up her phone and sending him a little message. If he was working, which she didn't doubt he might be, she could still find out where he lived and just wait for him there. At least his home here in Rabanastre would be a welcome reprieve from the misery she'd had to endure in Midgar.

Date: 2010-05-11 05:59 pm (UTC)Flying through the streets of Rabanastre on his trusty skateboard, Roxas had just bumped into someone who was carrying something that might have been breakable, but he didn't have time to stop. His backpack was loaded with the food he was told to get at the marketplace. Unless it was on the other side of the city, Roxas had used his skateboard to get from place to place. Being to fetch things quickly helped him make some money since his arrival in Rabanastre. Mostly he did it at the Sandsea, where Penelo worked. He smiled at the thought. But also, he did it for other people who just didn't want to walk in the heat.
But there was something that caught his eye, enough to make him slam the back end of his skateboard so he came to a halt. Who would be wearing black robes in this heat aside from-
"Xion!" he shouted happily with a wave. Just as he did so his phone rang. Whoever it was could wait, after all, he had been expecting his sister to visit soon. He popped his skateboard up into his hands and quickly walked over to her.
"Long time no see!" he said with a genuine smile.

Finally she was with family again. Not a group that worked toward a common goal and had a facade of camaraderie, not a strange collection of people with creatures infecting their minds, but an actual family.

"Come on." he said as he pointed down towards the Sandsea. "It's cooler in there and you can get something to drink. Been really hot today." Quickly Roxas tucked his skateboard behind his backpack. "Everything okay with you and Aerith?"

Date: 2010-05-17 09:59 pm (UTC)She told the lie so convincingly she actually spooked herself. She supposed it was the Lavoid resting inside her that made it so easy. Inwardly, she hated it. She didn't want to lie to her brother, but at the same time, she didn't want him to worry. He had enough going on here in Rabanastre; she couldn't let herself bring more burdens to him.
"So how are things with you and that girl you like?" she asked, changing the area of the conversation easily. Xion wore a teasing smile. "When do I get to meet her?"

Date: 2010-05-26 11:24 pm (UTC)Xion's next words caused Roxas to almost miss his chair as he went to sit down. He looked at her blinking quite a few times as he tried to remember if he ever mentioned Penelo, but he couldn't think of ever doing so. He opened his mouth, paused, closed it and then opened it again only to say "Uhh....I..uh......uhm...uh...what??"
Those drinks couldn't get there fast enough.

Date: 2010-05-27 02:45 am (UTC)More lies and more lies. The only saving grace she could find in telling them was that they were really more half-truths than outright lies. At least Roxas was getting the general gist that she was doing okay in Edge and Midgar. Still...her conscience kept screaming at her for lying to someone she knew could never truly hurt her. Unlike Roxas, she was grateful for the conversation focusing on Penelo.
"You mentioned her the last time we met, right? Or was it earlier than that...?" she shrugged. "Either way, I remember you talking about her."
Xion paused, her head tilted a little. Was he actually...embarrassed? She tried to keep from laughing. That was just too cute, and so like her brother.
