Who: Sora, Riku, Roxas and Squall
What: Hunting the Heartless
Where: Centra Ruins

Squall landed the Ragnarok just west of the Centra Ruins, located far south of Balamb on the Utica Continent. The mission was straight-forward, wipe out the Heartless and go home.

As soon as the airship was landed, Sora bounced off it and shielded his eyes with his hand before looking up at Leon. "What're orders then, Leon?"

Roxas stood at Sora's side, huffing a little and brushing his fingers through his spikes, trying not to cause more fights with Riku while Leon was about.

Riku moved to stand at the other side of Sora, blinking a little at the vast desert. What kind of person built a tower in the middle of the desert? A stupid one, no doubt.

Squall checked his gunblade was loaded, ensuring he was carrying extra ammo. "Wipe out the Heartless. Reports suggest they are only Shadow Heartless. So it should be simple enough. You guys take the lower floors, I'll take the upper ones."

Sora gave a nod and walked on, bringing his Kingdom Key into play and blowing a few spikes from his face. "I think this should go pretty quickly."

Roxas nodded and brought his own two Keyblades to life, though Oblivion flickered a little before it became solid. A twitch of his nose came before he headed on with everyone else.

Riku wiggled his fingers, Way to the Dawn quickly appearing in his hand as he walked with the others.

Squall ran a hand through his hair, brushing back chocolate locks from his eyes before jogging ahead. "We meet back here as soon as we're done. Be careful guys."

"Sure thing, Leon! Be careful too, okay?" Sora then headed along silently into the lower floors of the Ruins, keeping his eyes peeled for the enemy.

Roxas never spoke a word and simply followed Sora, twirling Oblivion and Oath Keeper in his fingers as he waited for the first attack.

Riku watched as Leon ran out of sight, before noticing some Shadows in the distance. "Get ready. Here they come." He murmured, tightening his grip on his Keyblade.

Sora gritted his teeth, preparing with his Keyblade raised, instantly slashing away the Heartless as they came near. Almost closing his eyes as he focused, Sora breathed steadily as the blackness began to swarm.

Roxas' eyes did close and he stood on the spot, swinging both Keyblades with grace and power, focusing with his other senses.

Riku slashed and cut his way through the Heartless, Way to the Dawn easily cutting through the darkness, yet as soon as he had made any progress, more seemed to appear.

"This is so not cool! How many are there?!" He asked, growling and forcing himself into his Ultimate Form, glowing white as a second Keyblade, similar to both of Roxas' Keyblades yet ever unnamed, appeared in his hand.

The Nobody never once opened his eyes but he clenched his jaw. "I think... there's about eighty or more and there are several hundred on their way." He replied.

Riku rested down on his Keyblade for a moment to catch his breath, before diving into the next wave of Heartless, twitsting and turning as he sliced and slashed through them. "This is crazy..."

Sora gritted his teeth as he spun, swinging his Keyblades before a Neo-Shadow suddenly burst from the crowd and had him pinned to the floor. Screaming as the blackness enveloped him, his sounds remained loud and frightening until... silence.

Roxas had been focused until that scream came. At that, his eyes snapped open and he looked at where Sora was dragged down, his eyes widening. "Sora!!"

Riku stopped mid-slash, staring at the space that Sora had been stood in seconds ago. "Sora?!?!" He pushed, kicked and cut his way through the Heartless to get to where his lover had stood, hands fumbling frantically through the darkness. "Sora??!"

As Riku's hand came near, Sora's teeth sank into his wrist and the teen hopped onto all-fours, snarling and hissing. Almost as if he'd ordered it, the Shadows retreated and vanished, leaving Sora there, blackened all over, glowing yellow eyes fixed on Riku as he shook his lover's wrist like a dog.

Roxas used the blunt edge of his Keyblade to knock Sora away from Riku's wrist, taking a step back. "Riku... back up. He'll pounce..."

Riku froze on the spot, blinking at Sora in shock. Roxas' words shook him back to reality and he took a step back, wide eyes fixed on Sora. "Um... This cannot be good..."

Sora almost giggled, though it was dark and full of hisses as he laughed. Shifting to be on two feet, one arm hanging limp while the other was tucked up, his yellow, unblinking eyes darted between Riku and Roxas.

"If it wasn't Sora, I'd suggest killing it... but we need to figure something out fast..." He mumbled, taking another step back.

Riku's eyes fell on some rope, he quickly snatched up one end, tossing the other end to Roxas. "We need to immobilize him..." He murmured, wiggling the rope. "Let's tie him up!"

Sora swayed slightly where he stood, his lazy arm swinging a little. At the rope and the words, he ducked down until he was on his knees and began crawling around the floor, trying to bite at their shins.

Roxas couldn't help having to kick Sora in the face as those teeth latched on his leg, but a moment later, he backed up again. "You restrain him, you're bigger than him! I'll tie him up!"

Riku squeaked at those sharp teeth before nodding at Roxas, all but wrestling the blackened version of his lover to the ground, attempting to restrain him.

Sora snarled and hissed, squirming in Riku's grasp and panting the instant he hit the ground, wriggling like a worm beneath Riku.

As soon as Sora was down, Roxas grabbed the rope and wrapped it around Sora's wrists, binding his hands before tying his arms tight to his body, his own hands steady as he work without emotion.

Riku's eyes were filled with unshed tears as Roxas bound Sora in such a way. His best friend and lover was a Heartless! He had failed to protect him from harm!!

Sora's eyes remained wide and golden as he panted, his fingers twitching. He hissed at Riku over his shoulder, trying to bite him and growling at him.

A moment more of the hissing was all he could take. A second later, Roxas landed a punch squarely to Sora's head, knocking the Heartless boy unconscious. "We've gotta get him out of here..."

Riku gave a nod. "Yeah, let's find Leon and get the Hell out of here!!" He murmured, grabbing hold of the rope to toss Sora over his shoulder.

Sora lay limp and unconscious over Riku's shoulder, his yellow eyes closed and his breathing steady, though no pulse echoed through his body.

Roxas could feel as though... a heart had found its way inside him. Almost as if he was looking after it for Sora. Yet, no emotions came and he couldn't tap into that heart to get any. With a sigh, he gritted his teeth. "We should go back to the Ragnarok. Leon is too high up and Sora might wake up before then..."

Riku gave another nod. "I just hope he's okay. If the Heartless have overpowered him..." He shook his head, and started to run back towards the Ragnarok, carrying Sora.
