Who - Zax and Edea
What - Reaching the Cave of Wonders! And such
Where - Agrabah Desert
Warnings - Nothing yet! Probably going to get there tho!

Zax huffed slightly as he heaved the heavy pack onto the ground. Jafar knew exactly where the Cave of Wonders was, now, so Zax had simply taken Edea there. Far out into the desert, on a cloudless night, the chill wind rolling over the dunes in a relaxed manner. "Huh.. well, this's the place." he put together the two halves of a golden scarab they purchased in the marketplace, from a shady vendor, and it shimmered before coming to life. Leaving a glittering trail, the thing spun around his head, faster and faster, before splitting and slamming into the sand. Immediately the dune humped up, taking on the semblance of a great tiger's head, with bright glowing gold eyes, "Who disturbs my slumber..?"

Edea stood beside Zax, not threatened or nervous about the growling intelligent being that encompassed the cave, her hand on Zax's back as she stood defiantly, smiling. "I am Edea Cheremisinov Kramer. Former Queen and Sorceress, with my knight, Zax." she stood proudly, rubbing his back, as she looked upon the construct, then to her partner.

Zax nodded slightly, swallowing back any saliva left in his drying mouth, but didn't speak a word. The Cave of Wonders, on the other hand, "What is it you seek, Edea Kramer and Zax the Knight?" it's voice nearly made it seem like an order for the two to leap to answering.

Edea paused, in defiance and smiled, "The Lamp that houses the Fallen Genie, Jafar" the name purred from her mouth, her eyes suddenly glimmering, as she pressed closer to Zax, to give him a bit of encouragement.

Zack nodded, and stepped forward, "The man may enter, but there is no place for you within my walls, Edea Kramer. He may touch nothing but the lamp, do you understand?" The Cave's voice was -loud-, and carried a fair distance.

"I trust my Knight, to do only as I have requested" she murmured softly, turning to pull him into a small kiss, "Just grab the lamp, dear Zax. Nothing more. We need nothing that the cave holds within." she said simply, stroking his cheek, "We need not riches, or jewels. They are fleeting. We have more than that at our disposal now" she smiled, stroking his hair.

Zax smiled at Edea, and took a little step forward, before nodding resolutely, "Right, I'll get the lamp for you, everything you should need.. I'll be back." he smiled, once, before stepping up onto the lip of the Cave, and taking the first few steps inside. When it didn't crush him, Zax continued into the living cavern.

Edea watched him head into the cave, sitting down at the partial campsite they had set up, knowing she could be there anywhere from a few minutes to a few days, depending on the layout of the cave. she settled in, keeping within earshot of the cave's entrance, to make sure she wouldn't get lost.

The raven-haired Knight descended into the Cave of Wonders, looking around with a low whistle at the mounds of gems, coins, artwork, and other goods. Things like carpets, spices, and tapestries were mounded here and there, tempting in their value. Well, anyone with a desire for material wealth would have been tempted; Zax had all he wished for.

Zax didn't know how long he'd be gone, either. With a small huff, he walked carefully along a path that appeared to be made of thin bricks of stone set into the sand. Though coins and jewels were piled high around him, nothing met or hung over the path, meaning that if he touched something he wasn't supposed to, well, he'd have had to be doing it intentionally, something he'd been forbidden to do. "So.. this lamp, is it in a straight line, or am I going to have to search, and search.." he was speaking to himself, really, because besides the breathing of the mythical cave's unseen, but likely huge, lungs.. well, there was no other noise.

The SOLDIER-clone didn't know a thing about any screaming, or about Edea running into the Cave of Wonders after what sounded like him. The man continued, cautiously, looking around at all the things placed to tempt the willpower of mere mortals daring to set foot in this mysterious place. Who had enchanted the Cave, and stocked it with such untouchable treasures? Was it all to protect this lamp he was after? If so, why was it the only thing he could take?

Well, like it or not, Zax went deeper and deeper in, his eyes peeled for any trouble.

"Whoa.." he stopped cold when he came across a path leading to a vast cavern. Where all the other rooms had glittered with heaps of gold, the room he could see beyond was a simple, bright blue lake of still water. There was a series of stairs, and raised platforms, leading to a deis that held an inky black blot of purest darkness, given the shape of a lamp. "Heh.. jackpot."

Zax halted when he stepped into the room, looking around with a low whistle. He didn't see Edea at first, but as he got closer to the beginning of the stairs, a light shone down from above her, drawing the eye. "E-Edea?!" he gasped out her name, not expecting to see her there at all. Immediately he reached for his sword, glaring around for an unseen assailant.

"Edea~!" Zax took a step forward, and almost fell off the ledge into the water. Wait.. suddenly there was a flash, and the cool blue turned to hot orange, the water becoming molten rock. The heat coming off of it seared him, and Zax staggered back a bit.

'Touch nothing but the lamp..' the words flashed in his mind, and Zax stood for just a moment, paralyzed, unsure of what to do. He had to save Edea.. but he wasn't sure how he'd do it..

He looked up at her, struck by the realization that she was mostly undressed, and not only that, but the manacles weren't just around her ankles and wrists.. her legs.. at the knees, and her -thighs- of all places. He gritted his teeth, growling at the idea of someone pawing at her, and gave his head a shake, "I'm not leaving this cave without you, Edea~! That lamp can rot in hell for all it matters, compared to you!"

The raven-haired man drew his sword, taking a step back and preparing to leap out. He'd drive his sword into the rocks, and climb up to her. "I'm.. I'm coming..!"

As she fell, Zax threw himself off his ledge, and everything seemed to slow for him. In that moment of tranquility in the heat of the situation, Zax found himself making his choice. He didn't care if he got that stupid lamp, and he was willfully disobeying Edea. He'd die for her, a thousand thousand times, to see her safe.

"Edea..!" he threw his sword to the side when he noticed he wouldn't be able to catch her, and twisted in the air, spreading his arms and flipping over into a graceful dive. Into the lava, after his Sorceress. Zax -would- save her, he -had- to.

Zax hit what appeared to be lava as well, fearless in the face of certain death and horrible pain. What he felt was a cold slap of water, and after half a second of shock, he swam to Edea with powerful strokes. Even he wasn't strong enough to pull her up out of the water, though, and though his powerful grip had closed around her, and he tried, in the end he didn't let go even when his lungs screamed for air.

The man eventually had to take a breath, and water rushed into his lungs, smothering him and darkening his vision all in one go, but still he held on. He still kicked, strong as ever, though he was rapidly sucking in more water, his thrashing becoming more feeble.. Edea wouldn't be the first to die, the way he was frantically using his remaining air supply.

He was still for a moment, before Zax's body heaved, and he coughed up water, trying to breathe as he did so, and choking. After a moment longer, he managed to heave it all up, panting raggedly against the sand while he looked around, tears streaming from his glowing eyes from the pain of retching.

"Oof.. what the hell..?"

"Kinda feels like we should be.. ugh.." Zax mumbled the words, shaking water from his soaked mass of hair, then peering around some more. With a muffled -clank!- something struck his head, and bounced off into the sand near Edea, earning a yelp from Zax about how that 'freakin' hurt!'

Really, he didn't know what it was that hit him, only that it was heavier than it's size would have normally suggested to him.

The man rubbed the sore spot on his head, and sighed, his eyes glowing softly as he watched the lamp wearily, "Seems that way, Edea.." Jafar's lamp was as black as pitch, with what appeared to be faded golden accents. "Maybe it holds what you needed to find.. er.. inside it."

What was it Genies said? Phenominal cosmic power! Iiiiiitty bitty living space!

Zax stood, and without asking, as he was feeling quite overprotective of his manhandled, nearly drowned Sorceress, swept her into his arms, one behind her back, one beneath her knees, carrying her as if she were more Damsel than Deadly. "Alright, I'll get us there Edea." he spoke softly, affectionately, though he trotted along at a good clip.

The black-haired Knight smiled faintly at the kiss, still pissed off that someone had dared.. Dared!.. lay a hand on his Sorceress. He was also angry at himself, for allowing her to get into such a situation, though that was just silly because he couldn't have avoided it.. "Are you okay, Edea?" he asked her after just a little while, obviously concerned.

Eventually, Zax got the slender woman back to camp, and gently set her on her feet outside their tent. With a small sigh, he got to brushing accumulated sand from the enclosure. The man coughed wetly from time to time; nearly drowning had that effect on a person, but he didn't seem much worse off for his time spent breathing water.

When it was clear, he held the tentflap aside for Edea, smiling slightly to her, "It's not a palace, Edea, but it's the best we can do this far out." he felt she deserved much, much more than simply a tent in the desert.
