Who: Squall, Open to all
When: Evening
Where: Balamb Garden
What: Yuletide Celebration Ball
Rating: PG-13
Squall had been busy for weeks pulling the Yuletide Festivities together. It was his favourite holiday of the year. A time for family and friends. A chance to share love and happiness and to share gifts.
Balamb Garden’s ballroom had been transformed into a most elegant and beautifully decorated room. A tall tree stood decorated in one corner, surrounded by hundreds of small gifts – one for every visitor. A buffet table stood along the length of one wall, filled with many different seasonal dishes, local and further a field – something to suit all tastes. Wine flowed freely to all adults, and soft drinks for all children. A band filled one corner, playing out classical ballroom music. Airships had been sent across the globe on behalf of Balamb Garden to ensure people had a way of getting to the ball.
Dressed in a smart tux, Squall stood on the balcony, sipping his wine as he looked out over the forming crowd, watching as people danced, talked, ate and had a good time. Everything was coming together perfectly.

Date: 2009-12-23 09:46 pm (UTC)Dressing up for the occassion however did not suit him at all.
Despite what he thought, he pulled off the tuxedo nicely. His main complaint about everything however was the fact that his weaponry, his beloved swords, were taken. He doubted the arranger of the party would steal them for their own uses, but he just felt naked without them.
The buffet was by far the one thing to quickly catch his attention. Gorging on food however would just catch unwanted attention with the way he ate, or at least wanted to eat. His stomach growled, urging him to break his own rules and chow down. Even the food seemed to do the same as well, beckoning his attention.
He looked away in shame. "No, Glenn. Remember what the thief said earlier." He recalled Kid's words from before about finding the arranger of this ball, or even the Queen to seek their help. "Yeah, just find the guy...and pray that she doesn't lock me out again." He shivered. Last thing he wanted was to break down the bar again,
Looking across the room, past the endless swarm of guest, he spotted his target: Squall Leonhart. He'd have to be cautious. According to Kid's description, he's one of the best, if not the greatest fighter in SeeD. Elements may still be in his system, but a fight was certainly not on his priority, at least not within here.
'Hopefully Kefka didn't come and join the party...' He shuddered. That's just what this ball needed: A high power villain of mass destruction in the form of ridiculous clown!
Shaking the thoughts out of his head, he walked over to Squall, extending his hand. "Greetings. My name is Glenn, a Dragoon. My friends and I seek your aid, should you have any ideas of mystical energy or magics involving dimensional travel. Or perhaps finding a certain somebody one of my friends knows?"
Perhaps he should have started with a drink first before piling the information and favors...

"Dimensional travel?" he asked, raising a questioning brow. "What makes you think I would know anything about it?" He had been to other worlds on his travels, but the warping of dimensions? That was something beyond him.
"You mentioned a someone your friends know? Do they have a name? I shall help if I am able..."

Glenn mused, trying to recall the name Kid had told him. "I think the guy we are looking for...I think his name is either Janus or Magus. He's apparently Kid or Schala's brother. All I know is that we can't leave without first consulting him or something." And while talking, he supposed warning Squall of a certain clown wouldn't hurt. "You may also want to keep your eyes peeled for Kefka as well. That guy is nothing but bad news." he added, rubbing his neck as if tending to an old wound.
